  1. The bottom ones in the ccc and kkk images are brilliant. Both somehow resemble the Gibson Corvus, just way better looking.

The whole batch is really good, actually. You must feel quite inspired these days.

  2. thank you alex, I have to select a design for my baritone project for next week because I have access to some machines to cut my massive mahogany block and someone to help me until the end of the month and I've been procrastinating for ever... so yeah I have renewed inspiration alas, because it's harder and harder to make my mind...

so the ones you spotted are new options - or they should merge in one design...

  3. At second glance, I've identified an important reason these particular designs appeal to me: It's the cutout far back for the right thigh. I usually play sitting down, and the cutout on most guitars is too far at the front for my taste. One of the mods I've considered for my black SG is a cutout at that exact place.

If sitting-down-ergonomics is of no importance to you, please take into account that that's part of the appeal to me. They're still great designs.

If the two designs should be merged, I'd take the CCC one with the pickguard layout of the KKK. Plus, the top rear corner of the CCC moved a bit forward to give a longer bottom line and a shorter cutaway at the top. On the KKK, I'd be concerned that the top rear corner would be uncomfortable to the player's right forearm.

Not that I'd want to interfere with your artistic expressions, but I couldn't help stating my opinion ;-)

  4. oh, yes, one more thing: If it's going to be a baritone, how about a 2 + 4 tuner layout on the headstock? The two tuners on the left side could be bass tuners to ease tuning of the low strings.

  5. I actually have a classical guitar background and when playing sitting I prefer a high neck, so the cutout in the back is deliberate - I never understood why the Eko 700 had no legacy but a few soviet guitars...

I will draw your recombination suggestion and compare it to mine - thanks for sharing and proposing, that's the point of blogging, isn't it?

and for the baritone I already have a neck - a Danelectro 27' - but I do like upside-down 4+2 headstocks like on the Schecter Ultracure...
