I'm very close to my baritone design now - but since last time I said this I created a alternative design with an upper horn, so now I have to choose between e & f...
Anyway, next month I can go back to the work-bench after months filled with performances and travels, and before a new performance series in autumn!
A few month ago I was invited to join the art noise band DJ Third Arm & the Tentacles for a concert in Performance Hotel in Stuttgart. At some point I stopped playing to shoot this short video where you can see impro guitarist David Bausseron playing his MIDI nylon string Godin and Michl Schmidt with... er... well, his third arm messing with cheap turntables... It was a very cool (and noisy) concert!
The new lipstick on my Televangelist sounds as good as it looks, and the upgraded guitar was baptized on stage tonight... Unfortunately I also changed the varnish to a glossy lack that looks quite awful and was damaged already during the performance - when the previous finish resisted the rehearsals much better. So I have to sand it off and start again...
This guitar is not a concert guitar but was built to be used in the hardcore art cabaret performance series Dancing on Ashes - the picture was shot during the last show, yesterday in Berlin...
Here it comes again, carried by a spring breeze, the recurent baritone project... This is what seems to be the proper design, but I said that before for other attempts... Anyway I let it macerate a couple of weeks, build a cardboard model and then we'll see!
It's good to go back to the workbench - and if everything works like planed, I should start again on my projects next June, when I have achieve what I've busy with since last fall...
Is it vain to have a personal guitar blog - one more guitar blog? Probably...
But when I started to pay more and more attention to my guitars - lifetime companions and much more than mere working tools -, I've been quite happy to gather information on the net, on blogs, forums, fan sites, etc... So maybe some people will benefit in a way or another from this one.
And maybe also one day someone will see and appreciate my design work and ask me to design guitars for his project or his company - feel free to contact me if you're interested!

A sunburst Stratocaster walks into a bar, orders a beer and takes a stool next to a hot-looking Les Paul Goldtop, who's sipping an umbrella drink. The Strat leers at the Les Paul for several minutes and then says, "Hey, that's some set of humbuckers you got on you, darlin'."
"You're not getting any feedback off of me with a pickup line like that," the Goldtop says indignantly.
